Challenge:
A small historical fountain, the Oroszlánfej kút, had an unmanaged Google Business Profile, with no updates, no imagery, and almost no visibility. Despite being a local point of interest, it remained digitally “invisible” to visitors.
Solution:
Visible Tourism took over the Google Business Profile management in January 2024, optimized metadata, added verified visuals, and corrected the map data. Within months, the site achieved measurable visibility growth—3,777 visits and 1,071 interactions in 2024, with 90% mobile views and 100% of interactions linked to navigation requests.
Impact:
Even a small, previously unmaintained landmark became part of the digital tourist map, attracting spontaneous mobile visitors through organic search.
Adaptation Tip:
For DMOs and tourism businesses, it is essential to manage all Google Business Profiles across the destination. These often-overlooked profiles can become valuable marketing tools, enabling posts, updates, and links to the DMO’s website, directly connecting local points of interest with the broader destination narrative.
